Privacy Policy
Last updated: 2026-10-20
This policy explains how SKENE ("we", "us") handles personal data in the Royal Gallery game (the "app") and on this website, royal-gallery.skene.ws. We are the controller of this data. Our address is 605, 194, 95-1 Gwanggyojungang-ro 248beon-gil, Yeongtong-gu, Suwon-si, Gyeonggi-do, 16512, Republic of Korea, and you can reach us at royalgallery@skene.ws.
1. Data we collect
The app has no accounts and never asks for your name, email address or phone number. Your progress, stars, coins and purchases are saved on your device. While you play, the app processes this data automatically:
- Install ID. A random identifier the app creates the first time it runs. It is not your device's advertising identifier.
- Gameplay and ad events, sent with the install ID: paintings started and restored, hints used, ad requests, ads shown and rewards given, the revenue amount of each ad impression, purchase results, whether you allowed reminders, reminders scheduled and reminders you tapped, with the app version, operating system, device model, language setting and whether your install is in a small group that never sees ads (used to measure what ads cost the game).
- Advertising data. Google AdMob may collect your device's advertising identifier (on iOS, the IDFA only if you allow tracking; on Android, the advertising ID), your IP address, device information and how you interact with ads.
- Ad measurement. Firebase Analytics (Google) receives an app instance ID, the revenue of each ad impression, key events (paintings restored and purchases) and, where allowed, the advertising identifier.
- How you found the game. On iOS, an Apple ad attribution token and the answer Apple gives for it, and SKAdNetwork and AdAttributionKit conversion values. On Android, the Google Play install referrer.
- Purchase confirmations. The store's transaction ID, product and result. We never receive your payment details.
We also collect your email address and message when you contact support. We do not work out your location from any of this, and the app does not collect your precise location, contacts or photos.
2. How we use it, and our legal bases
| Purpose | Legal basis (EEA, UK) |
|---|---|
| Understand how the game is played, fix problems, tune difficulty and how often ads appear, test changes and send game settings to the app (PostHog) | Legitimate interests |
| Show ads that keep the game free, and prevent ad fraud | Legitimate interests; consent where the law requires it |
| Personalized ads, and measuring and optimizing our ad campaigns (AdMob, Firebase, Google Ads, Apple) | Consent |
| Learn which ad or link led to an install | Legitimate interests; consent where the law requires it |
| Deliver and restore the remove-ads purchase, and handle refunds and disputes | Contract |
| Answer your messages and handle deletion requests | Legitimate interests, legal obligation |
We do not use your data for decisions that have legal or similarly significant effects on you.
3. Who we share it with
- Service providers that process data for us under contract: PostHog, Inc. (analytics and game settings, hosted in its EU Cloud in Germany), Cloudflare (this website) and Proton (support email).
- Google, for AdMob ads and Firebase ad measurement, under its own policies. See How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services.
- Apple, for Apple Search Ads attribution and SKAdNetwork and AdAttributionKit measurement, under its own policies.
- Apple and Google Play, which run the stores and process payments, under their own privacy policies.
- Authorities and others when the law requires it, to protect our rights or others' safety, or a buyer if we transfer the game.
We do not sell personal data for money.
4. Ads and your choices
The app shows Google AdMob banner, interstitial and rewarded ads. Rewarded ads play only when you choose them, and buying remove-ads turns off banners and interstitials.
- In the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, Switzerland and US states with privacy laws, Google's consent message (UMP) appears first, and the app and Firebase follow your choices. There you can change them at any time under "개인정보" (Privacy) in the app's settings.
- On iPhone and iPad, Google's explainer is followed by Apple's request to allow tracking. If you don't allow it, the IDFA is not used. You can change this at any time in Settings > Privacy & Security > Tracking.
- On Android, you can reset or delete your advertising ID in your device's ad settings (where they are depends on the device).
If you opt out of personalized ads, you still see ads, but not ones based on your interests, and the game works the same.
5. How you found the game
To decide where to advertise, we learn which ad led to an install. On iPhone and iPad, the app sends an attribution token that Apple creates on the device to Apple, to learn whether the install came from an Apple Search Ads campaign, and reports coarse conversion values (ad revenue ranges and play milestones) to Apple through SKAdNetwork and AdAttributionKit. On Android, the app reads the Google Play install referrer once. The campaign information is stored in PostHog with your install's analytics.
6. Purchases
Remove-ads is bought through the App Store or Google Play. We receive a confirmation of the purchase with its transaction ID, not your name or payment details. The purchase is saved on your device, and "구매 복원" (Restore purchases) in the app's settings gets it back from the store.
7. Reminders
If you allow notifications, the app schedules reminders on your device only. It creates no push token and sends none to a server. You can turn reminders off with the bell in the app's settings or in your device settings.
8. International transfers
We are based in the Republic of Korea. Our analytics are stored in the European Union and Proton is in Switzerland. Google, Apple and Cloudflare may process data in other countries, including the United States. Where needed, we rely on safeguards such as adequacy decisions and standard contractual clauses.
9. How long we keep it
Analytics are kept for up to 24 months, then deleted or reduced to totals that cannot be linked to you. Data on your device stays there until you delete the app. Google and Apple keep what they receive under their own policies. Support emails are deleted 12 months after the conversation ends.
10. Your rights and deleting your data
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct or delete your data, to restrict or object to its processing, to data portability, and to withdraw consent at any time. Email royalgallery@skene.ws to use them. You can complain to your local data protection authority.
- Deleting the app removes your progress, purchase record and install ID from the device and stops all collection.
- Resetting your advertising ID breaks the link between your old advertising ID and new activity (section 4).
- Because there is no account, to delete your analytics please tell us roughly when you installed the app and your device model, so we can find your install.
11. Notice for US residents
We collect identifiers, commercial information (purchases) and app activity for the purposes in section 2, and no sensitive personal information. Our use of Google's and Apple's ad services may count as "sharing" or targeted advertising under some state laws. You can opt out through Google's consent message where it appears, under "개인정보" (Privacy) in the app's settings, or with your device's ad settings (section 4). We will not treat you differently for using your rights, and an authorized agent can make a request for you.
12. Children
Royal Gallery is not directed at children under 13 and does not ask your age. It never collects names, contact details or location. If you think a child has sent us personal data, contact us and we will delete it.
13. Security
The app sends data only over encrypted connections, and only the people who work on the game can access it.
14. This website
This website has no ads or tracking, and we set no cookies and load nothing from other sites. Cloudflare, our hosting provider, processes request data such as your IP address to deliver and protect the site, and its bot protection may set a short-lived security cookie to tell people from automated traffic.
15. Changes to this policy
When this policy changes, we update the date at the top. We announce important changes in the app or on this page at least 7 days before they take effect.
